WOLF PACK ANNOUNCE RYAN STACK AS CAPTAIN
- Submitted by

NORTH VANCOUVER (June 15, 2020) - The North Vancouver Wolf Pack have announced that forward Ryan Stack has been named team captain for the 2020-21 season.

The 19-year-old forward will be entering his second year with the Wolf Pack after being acquired from the Kelowna Chiefs (KIJHL) late in October of 2019. Stack was an instant fit with the Wolf Pack and was a big contributor to the team's dominant season. In 25 games for the Wolf Pack Stack had 20 assists to go along with 26 goals, which was good enough to finish 5th in the PJHL in goals scored despite playing only half of the season. He would go on to add three more goals in four postseason games including the double OT series winner in Game 4 of the Shaw Conference Final.

Head Coach and General Manager Matt Samson knows that Ryan was the obvious choice to dawn the “C” for the Pack. “Even though Ryan came to the team a couple of months into last season after returning from Junior A his impact was felt right away, on and off the ice. He has a very calming demeanor and will lead by example as he no doubt will be one of the top players in the league again next season. He is a high character individual with a great family and we are excited for him to assume the role of Captain with the Wolf Pack."

Stack will be taking over the captaincy from Lucas Barker who is the reigning MVP of the league but Matt Samson is certain he will be able to continue the success that previous team captains have had. “We have been very lucky that the past several Captains have been unbelievable leaders in the dressing room along with top performers statistically and I have full confidence that Ryan will continue this trend.”

Stack will be entering his final year of junior hockey which includes 50 games in the BCHL with Coquitlam, Prince George, and Penticton as well as 63 games of Junior B between Kelowna and North Vancouver. His experience will be relied on as he leads a Wolf Pack team looking to continue where they left off and keep on their winning ways.
