Mission City Outlaws 6 / Langley Trappers 5

Mission leads best-of-7 series 2-1

Dylan Stoltz opened the scoring for the Outlaws in the first, but it was the second period that saw the bulk of scoring with both teams exchanging goals, six throughout the period including two on the power play for Mission. A pair of goals from the Trappers early in the third period gave them the lead for the first time in the game, but this was late relinquished by the Outlaws’ Michael Nemeth on the power play with 58 seconds remaining in regulation to tie and send the game into extras. In overtime, Matthew Konrad beat Ajeetpal Gundarah unassisted at 4:05 to give Mission a 2-1 series lead. The Outlaws finished the game 3/8 on the power play and Issac Elias stopped 20 shots for the win.

Grandview Steelers 5 / Richmond Sockeyes 3

Grandview leads best-of-7 series 2-1

The Sockeyes got the scoring started late in the first period at 18:07 with a goal from rookie Tanner Gushel.

The Steelers were able to get on the board only 12 seconds into the second period with a goal from Ethan Strik. Jacob Paler-Chow put up back-to-back markers later in the frame at 9:53 and 16:29 to increase the Grandview lead to 3-1, but Nicholas Wilson pulled the Sockeyes within one during the closing minutes at 18:38. In the third, Quinn Myles added to his club’s lead at 15:06, but the Sockeyes pulled close once again with Wilson scoring his second of the night late in the third. However, the Sockeyes comeback was stifled with a late goal from Max Fookes to put the game away. Grandview’s Cale Dolan put aside 39 shots for the win, with the Sockeyes outshooting the Steelers through all three periods.
