. The Abbotsford Pilots won the Western Canadian Keystone Cup this past weekend. The Pilots defeated the Thunder Bay Northern Hawks 9-1 in the Championship Game. The Keystone Cup was hosted in Saskatoon, SK from April 19-22, 2012. This is the third win in four (4) years for the BC representative at the Keystone Cup. The Northern Hawks opened the scoring on the power play early in the first period, but the Pilots took control after this. To close out the first period the Pilots scored three (3) goals in the final nine (9) minutes of play. The Pilots added two (2) more in the second and then four (4) more in the third to make it a 9-1 final. Leading the Pilots with seven (7) points apiece in the Championship Game was Justin Dorey and Riley Lamb. In 2011, the Peninsula Panthers won the Cyclone Taylor Cup title and went on to represent BC at the Keystone Cup, but came up short. In 2009 and 2010, the BC representative won back-to-back Keystone Cups with the Richmond Sockeyes winning in 2009 and the Revelstoke Grizzlies in 2010.
