Peden, Jang, Gardiner earn POW nods

The PJHL has announced its Players of the Week for the week ending Oct. 6.

Cade Peden, Forward, Mission City Outlaws – Scoring five of his seven points on the season in the week that was, Cade Peden helped the Outlaws to a pair of wins over Aldergrove. The 18-year-old forward scored his first of the year as part of a three-goal Mission City first period on the way to a 7-3 road win Oct. 2 where he was 1st Star. He picked up a 3rd Star nod the next time out, an 11-0 win on home ice, after recording three helpers.

Colin Jang, Forward, Port Moody Panthers – Jang has made himself an indispensable part of his new team in Port Moody after coming over from Delta and has 14 points in 10 games to begin the season. The 6-foot native of Coquitlam hit the scoresheet in each game last week, starting off with an assist in an 8-3 setback to White Rock. Jang scored his team’s second goal in a 6-3 road loss to Delta but concluded his week with two goals and an assist, earning 1st Star, in a 5-4 loss to Poco.

Charlie Gardiner, Forward, Poco Trailblazers – Getting involved in each of his team’s three games last week, Gardiner picked up an assist in a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Delta and got a pair of tallies as part of a 14-4 win over Aldergrove the next time out. Gardiner was named 2nd Star after a goal and an assist in a 5-4 win over Port Moody where his tally was the game-winner late in regulation time on the man advantage.
