The Pilots open the 2026–27 season looking to turn the page following a hard-fought six-game playoff exit against Cloverdale last spring. Special teams consistency remains an immediate focus after last year’s regular season finished at 17.3% on the power play (7th in the Harold Brittain Conference) and 75.8% on the penalty kill (5th).
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Cody Johnston (F): Entering his final junior season, the 2006-born veteran forward serves as the backbone of the Pilots. The club will lean heavily on his relentless work ethic and competitive drive this season after he finished second in team scoring last year with 63 points.
Parker Scott (D): Coming off a standout year where he placed third in Harold Brittain Conference scoring among blueliners with 37 points, the 2006-born Scott returns as a cerebral, all-situations pillar with exceptional vision and leadership responsibility.
Alen Isovic (F): A mature, highly skilled 2008-born newcomer with a relentless motor. The coaching staff expects the Burnaby Minor Hockey Association U18 product to step into heavy minutes and major responsibilities with veteran poise right away.
Sam Whetton (F): A local hometown addition who stands out for his high hockey IQ. The 2008-born forward, who played half of last season with the Langley Trappers, brings reliable three-zone responsibility paired with a natural offensive spark.
