The British Columbia Hockey Conference announced today the captains for the KIJHL and PJHL teams that will compete in the first annual BCHC Prospects Game on Tuesday, November 22nd at the Sardis Sports Complex in Chilliwack, BC.

The KIJHL Top Prospects team will be led by captain Kent Moors (Summerland Steam) and alternate captains Chad Bates (Grand Forks Border Bruins) and Tyler Seminoff (Nelson Leafs).
Moors has had tremendous success as a KIJHL rookie after joining the Steam from the Renfrew Wolves U18AAA team in Ontario. His eight goals and 19 points lead all Summerland skaters and places him in top spot among all 2005-born scorers in the KIJHL. Bates is thriving in his first season with the Border Bruins, sitting fifth in the league in goal scoring with 11, while Seminoff has logged big minutes on the Leafs’ blueline and recently made his BCHL debut as an affiliate with the Powell River Kings.
“Kent’s work ethic and attitude alone make him an ideal candidate to wear the ‘C’, and after speaking with Mark MacMillan in Summerland and learning about Kent’s daily habits and approach to the game, it really solidified him as the right choice to lead this team,” says KIJHL Prospects head coach Dave Hnatiuk. “Chad never takes a day off and his habits on and off the ice are the reason for his success early in his rookie season, and Tyler is a very mature young man who has earned plays top minutes and plays in all situations in Nelson.”
Meanwhile, captain Lukas Ravenstein (Ridge Meadows Flames) and alternates Ryden Mathieson (Port Moody Panthers) and Andrew Casellato (North Vancouver Wolf Pack) will lead the PJHL Top Prospects squad.
“Lukas is a natural leader who’s very good with his teammates and is always willing to lend a helping hand,” says PJHL Prospects manager Derek Bedard. “Ryden is an experienced junior hockey athlete who had a long playoff run with the White Rock Whalers last year and Andrew is a high character individual with an impressive overall hockey skill set who had a long main camp season with the Cowichan Valley Capitals.”
Ravenstein is in his second season with the Flames after playing U18 hockey with the Valley West Giants. He has been a consistent source of offence from the blueline, scoring five times and adding 13 assists in 18 regular season games. Mathieson is serving as an alternate captain with Port Moody and sits second amongst Panthers scorers with 15 points, while Casellato has 9 goals and 20 points as a rookie with the Wolf Pack after graduating from the Vancouver NE Chiefs U18s.
The KIJHL has also announced a pair of changes to its roster, as Princeton Posse forward Jalen McRae has suffered a knee injury and Fernie Ghostriders forward Tyler Haggerty has been ruled out due to illness. He has been replaced by 100 Mile House Wranglers forward Ethan Davey, who has scored three goals and totalled eight points in 16 regular season games.
The 2022 BCHC Top Prospects Game will face off at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, November 22nd and will be broadcast live on Hockey TV.
