Cloverdale Hockey Club: 2026-27 Season Preview

Cloverdale enters the 2026–27 season looking to build on a solid inaugural 2025-26 campaign that saw it finish fifth in the Harold Brittain Conference with a 24-18-2 record. It advances to the Conference semifinals before falling to the White Rock Whalers in five games.

Special teams look to be a major weapon once again, led by a powerhouse power play that ranked first in the conference last year at 31.0%, complemented by a sturdy penalty kill operating at 80.7%, which was good enough for third.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Keenan Connor (F): Entering his fourth year in the league, the 2006-born hometown veteran serves as the leader for Cloverdale. The second-year club is looking for Connor to build on a stellar 45-point campaign in 34 games last year and emerge as one of the premier two-way forwards in the PJHL.

Ashton Holbech (F): Holbech is a 2006-born veteran power forward coming off a massive 54-point season that included 25 goals in 44 games. Cloverdale staff noticed the Chilliwack, B.C. product took another noticeable step forward over the summer, and looks primed to challenge for the league goal-scoring title.

Lucas Henderson (D): Henderson is a physical presence who arrives in Cloverdale after four years with the Valley West Giants program in the BC Elite Hockey League. The Cloverdale staff is thrilled to add a big, mean defender to the back end to fill a vital shutdown role, after getting into three games as a 2009-born affiliate in 2025-26.

Josh McKellar (F): A dynamic 2009-born forward who dominated with Sharpshooter Academy in 2024-25 and the Langley Hornets U18 last year by leading the Premier Hockey League in goals and points. Following a strong spring and training camp with Cloverdale, he projects as a future star in the league and beyond.

HOME OPENER: Thursday, Sept. 17 vs. North Van Wolf Pack
