Foster, Erickson, Dallapace Get POWs

The PJHL has announced its Players of the Week for the week ending October 2.

Jack Foster, F, Ridge Meadows Flames – Foster heads the POW list for the second week in a row after recording six points and helping the Flames to a pair of road wins. Foster got started by dishing out three assists in a 7-1 win Friday over the Abbotsford Pilots. The Maple Ridge product then showed he can finish too as he scored a hat trick – the first of his PJHL career – in a 5-1 victory over the Mission City Outlaws where he was name the game’s 1st Star.

Merik Erickson, G, Delta Ice Hawks – Just back from a stint with the BCHL’s Merritt Centennials, Erickson was all but unbeatable in his first two starts of the season for Delta. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound netminder turned aside 23 of 24 shots and was 2nd Star in a 9-1 triumph over the Grandview Steelers on Tuesday. On the road against the Richmond Sockeyes two nights later, Erickson stopped 25 of 26 shots in a 4-1 Ice Hawks win. For the week, Erickson posted a .960 save percentage and 1.00 goals-against average.

Daniel Dallapace, D, Port Moody Panthers – Coming into last week’s action with a goal over five games, Dallapace went off for three goals and three assists in leading the Panthers to two home wins. On Saturday, the Burnaby native scored twice and assisted on two others, including the game-winner, in a 6-4 win over the Grandview Steelers where he was named 1st Star. The next day, Dallapace scored the 5-0 goal for Port Moody – which turned out to be the game-winning marker – in a 7-4 win against the visiting Surrey Knights.
