The PJHL has named its Players of the Week for the week ending Jan. 1, 2023.

Kaidan Johnson, F, Grandview Steelers – While Johnson was held off the scoresheet in one of his two outings, he more than made up for it in the other as he scored four goals and added an assist. The 6-foot-1 Burnaby native scored in the first, again in the second and completed the hat trick plus one more in the third period in a 7-5 Steelers road win over the Chilliwack Jets. His first and fourth goals came on the power play and his final tally proved to be the game-winner as he was named 1st Star.

Brendan Williamson, F, Chilliwack Jets – Williamson reached the 30-goal mark last week with a pair of goals and also had three helpers as the Jets earned a split in games against Grandview and Aldergrove. In a 7-5 setback to Grandview, Williamson had a goal and two assists and was named 2nd Star. In a tight-checking 2-1 comeback victory on the road over Aldergrove, the Chilliwack product set up the equalizer and scored the winner on his way to being named 1st Star.

Matthew Stewart, F, Richmond Sockeyes – With his team trailing 1-0 going to the third, Stewart scored both goals to rescue a home win in a 2-1 home triumph over Surrey where he took 1st Star honours. The Delta native had a goal and a helper in a wild 7-6 road loss to the Delta Ice Hawks.
