The PJHL has announced its Players of the Week for the week ending Oct. 13.
Steven Konechny, Forward, Grandview Steelers – After just a couple of helpers over his first 10 games of the season, Konechny busted out in a big way with eight points over three games last week. He opened with his first goal of the season plus a helper in a 5-4 overtime loss at Surrey and then went off for two goals, two assists and a 1st Star in a 6-0 road win over Mission City. Konechny was 1st Star again in a 5-0 home win Sunday over Aldergrove, picking up a goal and a helper.
Ronin Geraghty/Shayan Kermany, goalie tandem, Grandview Steelers – Geraghty made 40 saves and was 3rd Star, helping the Steelers grab a point in a 5-4 road loss at Surrey before turning around and posting his second shutout of the season with 22 saves in a 6-0 blanking of Mission Cityย where he was again 3rd Star. Kermany recorded his first shutout of the season in Grandview’s final game of the week, making 21 stops in a 5-0 win over Aldergrove where he was 3rd Star.
Theo Kochan, Forward, Ridge Meadows Flames – Sidelined since Sept. 20, Kochan returned to the Flames lineup with a bang by notching a hat trick plus three helpers in a 9-2 road win at North Van where he took 1st Star. Kockan is seventh in PJHL scoring despite just seven games played.
