PJHL alumnus Devon Toews ranked #66 among Top 100 NHL players by The Hockey News

In its latest issue, PJHL alumnus Devon Toews has been ranked 66th among the Top 100 NHL players by The Hockey News.

A 32-year-old native of Abbotsford, B.C., Toews has skated in more than 500 NHL games over eight seasons, totalling 302 points (65 goals, 237 assists) split between the New York Islanders and Colorado Avalanche.

In the PJHL, he played five games with the Abbotsford Pilots as a 16-year-old during the 2010-11 season, scoring two points (1 goal, 1 assist), before joining them for the entirety of their playoff run. In 13 playoff games, Toews finished with six points (1 goal, 5 assists) as the Pilots advanced to the PJHL championship final.

Following his development with the Pilots, Toews advanced to the Surrey Eagles of the B.C. Hockey League and was named to the BCHL All-Rookie Team in 2012. He won a BCHL championship with the Eagles in 2013 before embarking on a three-year NCAA career at Quinnipiac University.

Toews was selected by the Islanders in the fourth round (108th overall) in the 2014 NHL Draft. He won a Stanley Cup with the Avalanche in 2022, helped Canada earn a gold medal at the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off, and, with Canada, claimed a silver medal at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Italy.
