Port Moody Panthers: 2026-27 Season Preview

The Panthers head into the 2026–27 season eager to build on a competitive 2025–26 campaign. After finishing 22-21-1 (45 points) to claim sixth in the Harold Brittain Conference and earning a playoff berth against Mission City, Port Moody aims to push further into the postseason picture.

Establishing greater special teams efficiency – improving upon last year’s 19.5% power play (6th) and 73.4% penalty kill (6th) – will be a major focus as a balanced core of returning leaders and fresh recruits takes the ice.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Ayden Butler (D): The 2008-born mobile blueliner from Maple Ridge enters his second full season in Port Moody. Anchoring the defensive core, Butler pairs elite puck movement and sound defensive awareness with an expanding offensive game and leadership role.

Devon Lee (F): Lee is a skilled, 2007-born Burnaby native who brings slick playmaking to the Panthers’ forward group. Coming off a solid debut season, Lee is set to take on top-six responsibilities while providing steady veteran guidance for the club’s younger players.

Owen O’Farrell (F): A 2008-born Maple Ridge product, O’Farrell earned his roster spot following an impressive showing with the Panthers’ Fraser Valley Super League spring squad. O’Farrell adds a distinct mix of offensive spark, physical grit, and high energy.

Logan Cyr (F): The 16-year-old White Rock native marked Port Moody’s first offseason commitment. A swift, two-way center, Cyr brings dynamic speed and high skill while developing his full 200-foot game at the junior level.

HOME OPENER: Sunday, Sept. 13 vs. Surrey Knights
