The PJHL has announced its Players of the Week for the week ending Sept. 29.
Jesse Brideau, Forward, Chilliwack Jets – Brideau had just two games with which to do damage for the week that counted and he maximized his returns in the pair of outings. In a 5-4 overtime win on the road at Surrey, Brideau got the Jets third goal and then set up the OT winner as he took 2nd Star. The Prince George product took 1st Star honours in his other game for setting up the opening goal and then getting the winner in the second period as part of a 4-2 home win over Delta.
Zack Lagrange, Forward, Ridge Meadows Flames – After just eight games, Lagrange has almost half the points he scored all of last season and added to that total last week with seven points. In a 4-1 road win at Port Moody, Lagrange scored the opener and then set up his team’s next two tallies, earning 1st Star. He then scored at even strength, on the power play and unassisted in a 10-1 home win over Surrey where he was 2nd Star.
Ronin Geraghty, Goaltender, Grandview Steelers – Geraghty worked overtime both nights and was probably more impressive in a loss in the week that was. The Burnaby native stopped 42 of 43 shots in a heartbreaker 1-0 OT loss to Delta where he was 3rd Star. In his other outing, Geraghty outdueled his counterpart Nick Peters in a game that was scoreless through 60 minutes and overtime. The veteran netminder stopped 18 shots that came his way in regulation and OT and then both attempts against him in the shootout on his way to a 1-0 win.
