The PJHL has announced its Players of the Week for the week ending Feb. 9.
Grady Lenton, Forward, Delta Ice Hawks – Finishing the regular season with a bang, Lenton posted eight points in two games, both wins for the Ice Hawks. The hometown Delta product scored twice in the first period and completed his hat trick in the second while also recording two helpers in a 15-0 rout at home over Port Moody where he was named 1st Star. He’d then score the OT winner after setting up both Delta goals in regulation in a 3-2 road victory at White Rock where he was again 1st Star to conclude the campaign.
Theo Kochan, Forward, Ridge Meadows Flames – Kochan hit the scoresheet in all three games in the final week of the schedule. He got the game-winner and was 2nd Star in a 6-4 home win over Poco and followed that with an assist in a 6-0 win over visiting Port Moody. The Pitt Meadows product wrapped his regular season with a 1st Star nod after a goal and two assists in a 6-2 road win over Langley.
Cohan Kuncio, Forward, Mission City Outlaws – Unfortunately, there will be no postseason for the Outlaws so Kuncio won’t get a chance to extend the late success he enjoyed on his way to a POW nod. The product of Fort McMurray, Alta. had back-to-back two-point outings in the final two games of the season. Kuncio was in on both Mission City goals as he notched a shorthanded goal and a helper in a 5-2 road loss at Abbotsford where he was 3rd Star. He wrapped the season with another shorty and an assist to help the Outlaws to a 5-1 home win over Aldergrove where he took 1st Star honours.
