PJHL Media

The PJHL has announced its Players of the Week for the week ending Jan. 15.

Payton Hu, F, Delta Ice Hawks – Hu posted six points in three games, all wins for the Ice Hawks, and he sits just outside the top-five in PJHL scoring. The Surrey product assisted on the winning goal and had a tally himself in a 4-0 home win over Chilliwack and also picked up a helper in an 8-2 road win at Richmond where he was 3rd Star. Wrapping the week in a high-scoring 8-6 win at Port Moody, Hu had a goal and two assists and a 2nd Star nod.

Conner Merriman, F, Delta Ice Hawks – With three power-play goals and an assist for the week, Merriman also played a key role in Delta’s three wins. Merriman had the Ice Hawks’ third goal in a 4-0 win against visiting Chilliwack and bested that with two on the man advantage – including his 30th of the season – in an 8-2 win at Richmond where he was 2nd Star. The Surrey product had a helper on his team’s sixth goal in an 8-6 win at Port Moody to conclude the week.

Connor Hughes, F, Port Moody Panthers – A four-goal game will always draw attention in the POW considerations and Hughes had one Sunday in addition to being 1st Star, albeit in an 8-6 setback to Delta. Hughes also had a power-play tally and an assist in a 5-1 home win over Aldergrove where he was 3rd Star.
