The PJHL has named its Players of the Week for the week ending Nov. 20
Chase Newman, F, Mission City Outlaws – Newman hit the scoresheet each game in a three-win week for the Outlaws. The home-grown Mission product started with a bang, recording a natural hat trick and a 1st Star nod in an 8-2 home win over Port Moody. Newman had an assist in a 5-3 road win over Richmond and then finished his week with two goals – including the game-winner – in an 8-2 win over Abbotsford where he was named 2nd Star.
Rocco La Cara, F, Richmond Sockeyes – Scoring a goal in each of his team’s three games for the week, La Cara helped the Sockeyes to four of a possible six points. The native of Squamish, B.C. had a goal and was 3rd Star in an 8-1 home win over North Van and scored again in a 5-3 setback to Mission City. La Cara had the game-winning goal plus an assist and was named 1st Star, finishing the week on a 4-3 road win over Ridge Meadows.
James Veitch, F, Mission City Outlaws – Mission’s three-win week was part of what has been a five-game point streak for Veitch. Another Mission product, the forward had an assist in the 8-2 win over Port Moody and topped that with two goals – including the game-winner – in a 5-3 road win over Richmond where he was 1st Star. Veitch concluded with an goal, an assist and a 3rd Star in an 8-2 win over Abbotsford as Mission City improved to 14-8 on the campaign.
