The PJHL has named its Players of the Week for the week ending October 9.
Cole Svendson, F, White Rock Whalers – In pair of games for the Whalers, Svendson put his stamp on each contest, racking up four goals – including a hat trick – and an assist as White Rock went 3-0. Svendson scored a goal each period Wednesday for his second career PJHL hat trick in a 5-2 road win over Langley where he was the game’s 2nd Star. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound Langley native scored the first goal of the game Saturday, a power-play tally, in a Whalers 3-2 victory over Richmond.
Tanner Terness, F, North Van Wolf Pack – It was a busy week for the Wolf Pack with three games, the first three of the season for Terness, and he made the most of it by recording a goal and six helpers for the Pack. The 6-foot-2 product of Burnaby was named 1st Star in his first game of the season after supplying a goal and two assists in a 6-3 road win over Surrey. Terness set up North Van’s first two goals the next game, a 7-4 setback to Ridge Meadows and concluded his week with another two assists in a 5-2 loss at home to Langley.
Brock Mierzejewski, F, Langley Trappers – An eight-point week on a goal and seven assists from Mierzejewski helped the Trappers to a 2-1 record. Mierzejewski assisted on both Langley goals in a 5-2 loss to White Rock to open the week and he duplicated that the following game, a 5-2 road win at North Van. The homegrown Langley product saved his best for last with a goal, three assists and a 1st Star nod in a 6-0 home win over Aldergrove.
