Streaking Delta Ice Hawks welcome Wolf Pack Tuesday

Junior hockey team looking for eighth straight win against first place North Vancouver

The Delta Ice Hawks will look to continue its perfect run in November (6-0-0) Tuesday night in a showdown with the PJHL conference leading North Vancouver Wolf Pack.

The streaking Ice Hawks (15-5-0-1) pulled within four points of the Wolf Pack (17-4-0-1) with a game in hand after doubling the Grandview Steelers 4-2 on Sunday night at the Burnaby Winter Club.

Dalton MacGillivray scored twice as the impressive rookie jumped back on top of the league in the scoring with 38 points in just 18 games, including 17 goals. The Vernon Vipers prospect celebrates his 17th birthday on Friday.

Carson Hemenway chipped in with an assist and has played a big part in his hometown team’s success since opting to step away from the B.C. Hockey League. The 19-year-old from Ladner leads all defensemen in scoring with 24 points in just 12 games. He also has 12 goals.

The Hawks outshot the Steelers 39-15 but still needed an empty netter from Reegan House in the dying seconds to seal the outcome.

Delta also held off the Port Moody Panthers 5-4 on Saturday night with a three-goal second period outburst being the difference.

Game time Tuesday is 7:35 p.m. at the Ladner Leisure Centre.
