Coming off a stellar 30-win regular season and a thrilling seven-game playoff battle in the Harold Brittain Conference semifinals, Surrey enters the new year with higher expectations than ever.
Anchored by special teams units that punished opponents at a 27.7% (3rd) clip on the power play and stifled attacks with an 84.2% (2nd) penalty kill, the Knights are built to play fast, disciplined, and heavy hockey from opening night.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Logan Meyer (F): Tasked with driving the offensive engine and anchoring the leadership group, Meyer is a 2006-born veteran forward who brings crucial experience from stops across the PIJHL and Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League. The Knights staff is counting on his battle-tested poise and scoring touch to set the tone every shift.
Robbie Orr (D): Orr is a cerebral, highly coachable blueliner whose hockey sense stands out in all three zones. Having honed his craft through the North Shore Warriors of the Canadian Sport School Hockey League before settling into a dependable role in Surrey, the 2008-born Orr provides quiet, steady authority on the back end.
Christian Sum (F): A high-motor product out of the CSSHL’s Delta Hockey Academy system, Sum arrives with a reputation as a gritty, competitive two-way forward. Following productive junior-prep campaigns where the 2009-born forward consistently found the scoresheet, his edge and versatility fit seamlessly into the Knights’ young core.
Lincoln Arkinstall (F): Another coup from the Delta Hockey Academy pipeline, Arkinstall injects top-end speed and a lethal release into Surrey’s lineup. Coming off a 38-point U17 AAA breakout, the 2008-born forward’s offensive upside gives the Surrey staff an electrifying new weapon to develop.
