The PJHL has announced its Players of the Week for the week ending Jan. 26.
David Yoon, Forward, North Van Wolf Pack – It was a busy three-game week for Yoon and the Wolf Pack and the second-year forward was all over the score sheets, totaling 10 points. Opening the week in a wild 11-7 road win at Delta, Yoon scored North Van’s first of the game and got his second early in the second before setting up a pair on his way to 1st Star honours. In a rematch four nights later, Yoon was again 1st Star after scoring twice – including the game-winner – plus a helper in a 5-3 home win over the Ice Hawks. Yoon capped his week being named 1st Star again for netting a goal and two assists in a 6-4 road win at Grandview.
Samuel Allen, Forward, Ridge Meadows Flames – A four-goal game to wrap the has Allen poised to set a new career-high in goals as he has now matched last season’s total of 21. The 6-foot-2 Maple Ridge product opened his week with a pair of helpers in a Flames 8-0 road win over Aldergrove. He then scored twice in the first and twice in the second as part of a 12-1 home win over Langley where he also picked up two assists and was 1st Star.
Danyil Denysenko, Forward, Chilliwack Jets – With just one game on the week to make an impression, Denysenko took full advantage, going off for a hat trick and a six-point night plus 1st Star in a Jets 10-3 home win over Mission City. The native of Donetsk, Ukraine scored twice in the first and then waited until the final minute of the game to complete the hat trick. He set up three goals in the middle frame, including the game-winner.
