The 2026-27 BC Intercollegiate Hockey League season gets underway tonight, and a total of 38 players with Pacific Junior Hockey League experience are featured on opening night rosters.
The Simon Fraser University Red Leafs lead the way with 22 players who skated in the PJHL on their roster, followed by the University of Victoria with eight, and Okanagan College with four. Thompson Rivers University has three players with PJHL experience on its roster, while Vancouver Island University has one.
The appearance of these players on BCIHL rosters is a further indication of the PJHL’s role in acting as a valuable stepping stone in their advancement to the collegiate hockey ranks in British Columbia.
