The PJHL has announced it’s Players of the Week for the week ending Nov. 19.
Jesse Brideau, Forward, Chilliwack Jets – In a busy three-game week for the Jets, Brideau was a big part of the offence, collecting seven points. The Prince George native scored twice and assisted on both his twin brother’s goals as the Jets overcame a first-period deficit on the way to a 12-3 road win at Aldergrove where he was named 1st Star. The 6-foot-2, 190-pounder scored the opener and assisted on the winner in a 3-1 road win at Abbotsford for a 3rd Star nod and closed his week with the opening goal and 2nd Star in a 4-1 home win over Mission City.
Marek Brideau, Forward, Chilliwack Jets – The other Brideau twin had an identical scoring line to his brother for the first two games of the week with but outdid him in the last outing with a pair of assists to record eight points in the Jets’ three games. He scored a pair and set up a pair in the 12-3 victory over Aldergrove where he was 2nd Star and had the game-winning goal and an assist for a 1st Star honour as the Jets skated to a 3-1 win at Abbotsford. The 6-foot-1, 160-pound forward set up two goals in a 4-1 home win over Mission City.
Justin Grant, Forward, Richmond Sockeyes – Grant has been on a tear with five multi-point outings in his last seven games and he’s already matched his goal total from last year in less than half the games. Most recently, the Surrey product had the game’s opening goal and he assisted on three others in a Sockeyes 8-3 road win at North Van. The next time out, he had a goal and an assist as part of a five-goal first period in an 8-2 home win over Surrey.
