First PJHL POWs Of Season

The PJHL Players of the Week have been selected for the week ending Sept. 18.

Marcus Cumberworth, G, Richmond Sockeyes – Cumberworth earned two wins in as many starts for the week making 75 saves on 79 shots including a 49-save effort in a 3-2 road win over the Delta Ice Hawks where he was named the game’s 1st Star. The 6-foot-2 Surrey, BC product posted a 0.949 save percentage for the week along with a 2.00 goals-against average.

Wendell Adriano, F, Chilliwack Jets – After getting his feet wet with six games for Delta last season, Adriano is making an impact in Chilliwack early on with a natural hat trick Sept. 18 that included the OT winner in a 3-2 victory over Grandview where he was named 1st Star. The 2005-born forward had an assist in the season opener and will look to keep up his pace as the season moves into its second week.

Lincoln Edwards, F, Ridge Meadows Flames – Edwards completed his natural hat trick in style with a shorthanded marker in a 4-0 win Sept. 16 over the Mission City Outlaws. The 6-foot, 185-pound Abbotsford native added an assist in the game to make it a four-point night as he serves notice to the rest of the PJHL that he will be a factor for the Flames this season.
