Kochan, Foster, Hu earn POWs

The PJHL has announce its Players of the Week for the week ending Jan. 14.

Theo Kochan, Forward, Ridge Meadows Flames – Kochan’s assault on PJHL opponents continued last week with 12 points and crept closer to his team’s scoring lead with a monster week where he racked up six goals and six assists. His pair of goals included a power-play marker in a 5-2 win against Abbotsford where he was 1st Star and he authored the game-winner plus three assists for 2nd Star in a 12-1 win over Aldergrove. The Pitt Meadows product was in on six of the nine goals in the Flames’ 9-1 road win at Poco.

Jack Foster, Forward, Ridge Meadows Flames – Foster maintained his spot atop Flames’ scoring lead thanks in part to a massive week that included nine points in three games. He assisted three times and took 2nd Star in a 5-2 home win over Abbotsford and followed that with a 1st Star turn after two goals and two helpers in a 12-1 win against visiting Aldergrove. The Maple Ridge native had a goal and an assist in the third period of a 9-1 win at Poco to close out the week.

Payton Hu, Forward, Delta Ice Hawks – Helping the Ice Hawks to two wins in as many games, Hu totaled four goals and three assists for the week. The 18-year-old Surrey product earned 1st Star after he led a Delta comeback in a 4-3 win over Chilliwack. Hu set up his team’s first goal and then scored twice in the third period to force overtime where they went on to win it. In Delta’s other contest, Hu scored twice and assisted on a pair in a 10-1 road win over Poco where he was named 2nd Star.
