The PJHL has announced its Players of the Week for the week ending Oct. 22.

Zach Shaughnessy, Goaltender, Delta Ice Hawks – The first goalie to double digits in wins in the PJHL this season, Shaughnessy picked up wins No. 8 and 9 for the Ice Hawks last week. The 6-foot-2 native of Surrey began by stopping all but one shot and taking 3rd Star in a 6-1 home win over White Rock. He then earned 1st Star as he stopped everything that came his way in a 4-0 road win over Richmond, the first loss in regulation for the Sockeyes this season.

Ben Ruthven, Forward, Grandview Steelers – Ruthven assumed the team scoring lead with a five-point week over two games. The Vancouver native assisted on the tying goal late in regulation before the Steelers dropped a 4-3 result to Langley in a shootout but then blew up for a hat trick and a helper, scoring both third-period goals for his team to seal a 7-3 victory over White Rock where he was named 1st Star.

JJ Pickell, Forward, North Van Wolf Pack – Pickell has rocketed his way up the PJHL scoring race with multiple points in seven of his last eight games. In three games last week, the hometown North Vancouver product notched eight points. He opened with two goals and two assists in an 8-0 win at Aldergrove where he was 1st Star. He got on the scoresheet with an assist in a 7-4 loss to Richmond and concluded his week with two goals – including the game-winner – and an assist in a 5-2 win over Port Moody where he was 2nd Star.
