The PJHL has announced its Players of the Week for the week ending Dec. 31.
Cooper Crowe, Forward, Mission City Outlaws – The conditions at the PJHL Winter Classic seem to have been to Crowe’s liking as the Maple Ridge product recorded five points over the two games. In Mission City’s 5-2 win over North Van, Crowe set up the opening goal and scored the Outlaws’ second tally and was named Game Star. He went for two goals and a helper and another Game Star in the Outlaws’ 5-2 win over White Rock to wrap the event.
Samuel Brown, Forward, Langley Trappers – Brown hit the ground running after the Christmas break, posting a goal and an assist on his way to 1st Star in a 5-3 road win Dec. 28 at Surrey. At the PJHL Winter Classic, Brown helped the Trappers to a shutout win in their first game and then set up the tying goal and scored the winner to celebrate New Year’s Eve in a 3-1 victory over Surrey.
Max Fowle, Goaltender, Mission City Outlaws – Fowle started both game for Mission City at Minoru Arena and faced more than 35 shots each game. He picked up a pair of wins, stopping all but four pucks. The 19-year-old backstop made 42 saves in a 5-2 win over North Van and turned away 36 shots in another 5-2 win, this one over White Rock. Fowle continues to lead the PJHL in minutes played (1,747) and save percentage (.943).
